We are extremely excited to share that Psoriatic Disease UK has become a member of the International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations (IADPO), becoming the first member from the UK to represent psoriasis!
Also known as GlobalSkin, IADPO is a unique global alliance committed to improving the lives of dermatology patients worldwide. It marks Psoriatic Disease UK's first international partnership.
We launched our patient organisation on three pillars:
Creative Awareness
Community and Peer Support
Collaboration
We promised people impacted by psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in England and Wales that we would do more to represent and advocate on their behalf on the international stage, where traditionally, there has been a lack of UK patient representation. As we announce our first international collaboration, less than one calendar month since we launched the charity, we are proud to take our first step towards that goal and promise.
Over the coming months, we look forward to sharing with you the fruits of this partnership. GlobalSkin helps us to amplify our work on the global stage, influence national and international policy for better patient outcomes, access more data and research opportunities to better inform our work, develop productive relationships, and open up new avenues of funding for us to build on our early successes, such as the PSOcial Space peer support platform.
We're proud to be the first UK member of GlobalSkin to represent psoriasis and excited to see the benefits this brings for people living with psoriatic disease in the UK.
